Vasque, Children & Nature Network Launch News Platform

Vasque Footwear recently announced the launch Find Nature News, a digital news platform published by Children & Nature Network on a newly refreshed website. Underwritten by Vasque, Finding Nature News will be published twice a month, being sent directly to more than 25,000 subscribers. Finding Nature News will include commissioned, in-depth news features, as well as curated stories and commentary about the benefits of nature connection, along with tips and inspiration for spending more time outdoors.

“At Vasque, we want to help people find reprieve in nature, every day. In order to do that, we are amplifying the voices of experts and organizations, working tirelessly, to create a space where all people can find the power of nature nearby,” said Joe Peters, director of marketing at Vasque. “Finding Nature News is a resources and tool that people can use to find inspiration about the impacts of increasing equitable access to nature in their own community.”

The inaugural issue of Finding Nature News, published Oct. 29, 2020, features an in-depth story about the new Tom Lee Park that will reconnect one Memphis’ most diverse neighborhoods to nature, as well as a short feature on a young leader from Brooklyn, an evidence-base article about the equigenic effect of nature, a Richard Louv blog and more.

The Children & Nature Network (C&NN) leads a global movement to increase equitable access to nature so that children, and the wild places we cherish, can thrive. The organization advances nature connection strategies in key areas that impact children’s daily lives: families, cities and schools. C&NN curates research that makes the case for regular nature connection; works to advance policies that increase equitable access to outdoor experiences and green spaces; and builds the capacity of nature connection leaders around the world. C&NN is also curating COVID19 resources for families, educators, community leaders and more at Finding Nature News.

“Turning our indoor society back out to the benefits of nature is a critical issue for the health of our children, our communities, and our planet,” said Laura Mylan, senior vice president of the Children & Nature Network. “It will require creative cross-sector partnerships and leadership. By investing in Finding Nature News and in young children and nature leaders, Vasque continues to be a true partner in encouraging people to spend more time outdoors.”
