The Running Event (TRE), a North American run specialty retail conference and trade show, has begun accepting nominations for the 2025 Best Running Stores.
This annual awards program honors and celebrates run specialty stores in the U.S. that go beyond selling gear by creating welcoming spaces, fostering community and driving industry innovation. The awards reception, which will conclude TRE 2025, takes place in San Antonio, Dec. 4.
The awards honor run specialty stores that demonstrate outstanding customer service, community engagement and business leadership. An extensive evaluation process, including a secret shopper visit to the top 100 stores, assesses factors such as mentorship opportunities, sustainability efforts, inclusivity and overall customer experience. Winners will be selected and notified in late July.
“The Best Running Stores awards program is a celebration of the passion, dedication, and impact that run specialty stores bring to their communities,” said Christina Henderson, TRE’s event director. “These stores create welcoming spaces, push the industry forward, and inspire individuals at every point of their movement journeys. The run specialty industry is constantly evolving, but one thing remains constant: the powerful impact these stores make.”
Industry professionals, brands, customers and store employees are encouraged to nominate a run specialty shop that excels for their customer service, community impact and industry leadership. Best Running Stores of 2025 nominations must be submitted by Friday, Mar. 21.
