Thermore, a leader in the research, production, and marketing of thermal insulation for apparel, will present its new range of recycled products at Performance Days, a functional fabric fair, to be held from November 16 to 17, 2016, in Munich Germany. Thermore will be presenting in booth 201.
With more than 120 exhibitors from 23 nations, Performance Days puts on display the latest trends in fabric development for the functional textile industry. Scheduled to link seasonal sourcing schedules (April/May and November), the fair offers visitors everything from textiles to yarns, finishes to accessories. Along with manufacturers, the event also features different partners offering services from color trends to certification systems.
Thermore, for its part, has always been at the forefront in developing durable and resistant thermal insulation with a strong emphasis on sustainability. It was the first company to introduce a thermal insulation made from recycled fibers from PET bottles. All of this experience and knowledge in sustainability has recently been used by Thermore to take the next major step toward sustainability by converting the entire Ecodown product line to fully recycled polyester content, derived exclusively from PET water bottles.
The new Ecodown is the only synthetic insulation on the market to be made from 100 percent, postconsumer plastic bottles, says the company. Depending on the application, outerwear insulated with Ecodown can keep up to 10 bottles per garment out of landfills. Also, using PET bottles instead of oil help protects energy reserves and reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
Thermore Thermosoft, meanwhile, is made from 50 percent recycled polyester, offering value in a branded insulation product for today’s performance outerwear. The new recycled thermal insulations and all other sustainable products by Thermore do not require special quilting restrictions or fabrics and can be washed or dry cleaned, while a wide variety of available weights and thickness options cater to various design requirements.
At Performance Days, an updated version of the Ispo Award winning Thermore Stretch also will be presented.
