The Running Event Announces 2025 Venue Change to San Antonio

The Running Event (TRE) – a run and outdoor specialty retail conference and trade show in North America – announced that TRE 2025 will be held in San Antonio.

After extensive research, TRE identified the Texas city as an ideal location for supporting
brands, partners, retailers and the running industry as a whole. The move will keep TRE in an accessible location while helping ensure a fun, welcoming environment that is affordable for brands and retailers alike.

“Our team is thrilled to be moving to San Antonio in 2025,” said Christina Henderson, TRE event director. “We weighed many options in our search for a new home, and San Antonio was the clear choice. From the convention center and surrounding hotels to the city’s overall atmosphere and energy, San Antonio will welcome our TRE community with open arms.”

TRE’s location change is a result of the Austin Convention Center undergoing largescale renovations over the next few years. San Antonio emerged as a natural choice thanks to its robust travel infrastructure, general affordability and ideal size to preserve the intimate feel of the event. The city is large enough to provide partners with necessary services yet small enough to maintain the community-based nature that makes TRE such a special trade show.

The city of San Antonio is celebrating the move as well.

“For one week, San Antonio will be the epicenter of the running world,” said San Antonio sports president & CEO, Jenny Carnes. “We’re thrilled that The Running Event will bring all things running to San Antonio, and we are honored to host them in the Alamo City. The running industry will get to experience unique trails throughout the city and the festive spirit of our downtown during the holidays. There’s no more beautiful time or better place to run.”

The Running Event 2024 (Nov. 19-21) will take place at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, marking the event’s last year in Austin for the foreseeable future.
