Spartan Trail, Pacific Coast Trail Runs to Hold California Trail Event

The 2021 Spartan Trail US Series Presented By CRAFT announced the first-ever brand standalone trail event in San Jose, Calif., in partnership with event organizing company from the Bay Area, Pacific Coast Trail Runs. The race is aimed for runners from beginners to experienced, holding distances of 10k, Half Marathon, and an ultratrail of 50k, in a two-day event on February 19 – 20, 2021.

With the experience of Pacific Coast Trail Runs and its team, challenging courses will be created in the surroundings of the Santa Cruz mountains natural environment. Additionally, trail work weekends will be held approaching the event date, supporting the fire affected areas by helping them shine again, and also bringing awareness to the trail community.

“As a company, we think that the growth of the trail community comes not only from events, but also working and taking care of the places where the events are held, that’s why our partnership with PCTR are going further than just organizing races, with engaging community runs, trail work weekends, and other actions were we are mostly sure that Greg and his team will be excellent leaders,” said Josue Stephens, director of trail for Spartan.

Spartan and PCTR will continue to follow CDC guidelines and work with local government and health officials to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic – and will adjust race and safety protocols as needed for the 2021 season, said the organizations. To prepare for the 2021 race season, Spartans around the world can train and race virtually through a series of UNBREAKABLE programs including live and on-demand at-home workouts.
