SOL Paddle Boards Names Johnsons EO of Operations

SOL Paddle Boards, a Colorado stand up paddle boards brand, announced Chris Johnson as its new executive director of operations. Johnson’s appointment reaffirms SOL’s commitment to innovation, quality, and world-class customer service, said the company.

With 12 years of experience in the outdoor industry, Johnson brings a unique skill set to his new role, having worked as both a snowsports retail buyer and professional SUP athlete. He will oversee SOL’s manufacturing operations, design development, and production, along with helping to streamline quality control, customer and retail services.

“SOL is built by paddlers, for paddlers because we can better understand and serve the needs of every customer,” said Johnny Lombino, owner and founder of SOL Paddle Boards. “After working with Chris for years as an athlete and designer, we’re stoked to welcome Chris aboard as a full-time member of our executive team.”

Based in Vail, Colo,, Johnson was the 2018 Vail Whitewater Race Series champion and has spent the past six years as a Team SOL athlete. During this time, he provided valuable feedback, said the company, and as a product designer, he helped develop and introduce the world’s first underfoot camber technology for SUP, along with a one-of-a-kind stringer system for the brand’s new GalaXy collection. In addition to his new role at SOL Paddle Boards, Johnson will also continue racing on the Colorado whitewater circuit, river surf events, USNWC races in N.C., and hopefully an ISA race.
