Rocky S2V Signs on with Two Buying Groups

Outdoor footwear and apparel brand Rocky S2V has been chosen as a supplier for two major retail buying groups in the snowsports industry. Rocky S2V will partner with Sports Specialists Ltd. (SSL) and Snowsports Merchandising Corporation (SMC), which will offer the brand to their member businesses across the United States.

Rocky S2V was launched at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market and includes performance-driven outdoor gear designed to provide peak readiness in every scenario from trail running to back country snow skiing. The buying group SMC is composed of 62 member businesses represented in 158 storefronts throughout the country. These businesses primarily sell ski, snowboard, apparel and accessories in their stores.

“Rocky’s commitment to high quality, ultra durable, innovative outdoor products is exactly what SMC stores need to differentiate themselves in a tough marketplace,” said Chuck Camerlin, vice president of Snowsports Merchandising Corp. “We are excited about this new partnership and look forward to a long-lasting, profitable relationship.”

SSL, composed of some of the top specialty snowsports retailers in the U.S., has been a leading marketing, merchandising and purchasing association in the specialty ski, snowboard, outdoor, and casual furniture industries since 1971. SSL currently has 59 retail managements with more than 140 outlets in 26 states and Washington, D.C.

“With Rocky S2V we are pleased to be able to provide another innovative brand to our retailers,” said Cathy Walker, softgoods manager for SSL.
