REI Plans New Colorado Store Opening in Summer

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op will open a new store in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, this summer.

The location will offer an assortment of apparel, gear and expertise for camping, cycling, running, fitness, hiking, snow sports, climbing and more.

For those who adventure on two wheels, a full-service bike shop will be staffed by certified mechanics. The store also will have ski and snowboard shop offering professional tuning, waxing and repairs.

“REI’s presence in Colorado began in 1983 with our first store in Denver. Glenwood Springs will be our ninth location in the state,” said Janet Hopkins, REI regional director for the mountain district. “We look forward to serving the community and visitors who come to enjoy the hot springs, trails, waterways and endless outdoor opportunities.

“REI also will seek partnerships with local outdoor nonprofits to support their efforts in protecting natural places and welcoming more people outside,” she said.

The story will be located at the Roaring Fork Marketplace; 3216 South Glen Ave, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. 81601. The location is a former office supply retailer, with more than 20,000 square feet.
