Marking its sixth store in the Washington D.C. area, REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) will be opening store in the Tysons area of McLean, Va. in August of this year. the 32,800 square-foot, two-story store will be located at the southeast corner of Leesburg Pike and Chain Bridge Road.
“Tysons is the ultimate shopping hub in Northern Virginia,” said Ray Dinterman, REI retail director for the Mid-Atlantic district. “Our new store will join five other local REI stores and help us better outfit nearly 200,000 active members who paddle the Potomac and hike the Appalachian Trail.”
The company said it will hire approximately 50 new employees for REI Tysons. REI operates 128 physical stores in 32 states.
