USA Climbing, the national governing body of competition climbing, named Petzl as its exclusive lighting and safety sponsor. As part of the long-term strategic partnership, Petzl will sponsor more than 200 events, including local, regional, divisional and national competitions.
Petzl and USA Climbing will work together to support the culture of climbing as well as attract more members who will climb and compete for a lifetime, says the two. The partnership will encompass the five disciplines of USAC, including: Adaptive, Bouldering, Collegiate, Sport and Speed. Petzl will also help train USAC route setters at its 15,000-square-foot technical training center. The Petzl Technical Institute promotes the Climbing Wall Association (CWA) and its Work-at-Height Certification Program.
