Outdoor Retailer announced the opening of the entry window for its 6th annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation awards. This awards program showcases cutting-edge products, materials and retail services from across all seasons, pushing the industry forward and improving the outdoor experience. Now aligned with the Summer show, the winners will be celebrated at a reception on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, during the second day of Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Design + Innovation at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The submission period for products and services is open through April 24, 2024. As the awards now take place during the Summer show, entries are open to new products introduced in the past year. Rules and the entry form can be found online here.
“Innovation remains a cornerstone of the outdoor industry, and we’re excited the Outdoor Retailer Innovation awards return for their sixth year,” said Sean Smith, Outdoor Retailer show director. “This industry is engineering new designs, discovering more sustainable solutions, and improving performance of gear and materials. We’re looking forward to recognizing the work of the people and brands transforming innovative ideas into gear to support outdoor recreation.”
All finalist products, materials and retail services will be on display in the Innovation Gallery on the show floor throughout Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Design + Innovation, June 17-19, 2024, in the Salt Palace. Winners will be celebrated during a reception on Tuesday, June 18 from 4:30-6 p.m. in The Camp space on the show floor.
A panel of judges will evaluate all entries for their unique, useful and innovative attributes. Each entry will be rated based on four criteria – spark (concept, design, appeal), desire (opportunity, differentiation), function (innovation, functionality, insight) and impact (cultural, environmental, business).
