Online Backpack Retailer Launches ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ Campaign

Backpacks.com, a large online backpack retailer, announced the launch of a year-long charitable commitment to help collect and donate funding and other resources to members of the charitable community. “The We’ve Got Your Back Campaign represents Backpacks.com’s commitment to support people and organizations that devote their time to make our community a better place,” said the company. “These generous individuals and groups help others carry the loads that life hands us.

The campaign is designed to help make those loads a bit lighter for them.

Throughout the year Backpacks.com will donate backpacks to numerous organizations, often filling them with items helpful to that organization. This week, the We’ve Got Your Back Campaign began with a donation to assist school children affected by this summer’s hurricanes. Backpacks.com partnered with the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA) this week to provide free backpacks to children in Port Arthur, one of the hardest hit areas of Texas.

“We are extremely grateful to Backpacks.com for its generous contribution of backpacks to Port Arthur school children who were displaced by Hurricane Harvey. A good backpack is an essential piece of equipment for most school kids, and these are even more important to children whose lives were uprooted by the disaster. It will help them return to a sense of normalcy,” said Noel Candelaria, president of the Texas State Teachers Association.

Phase two of the campaign continues during the holiday season. In this season of giving thanks, Backpacks.com’s is helping thank your favorite charity. The retailer is asking the public to visit their website and cast a vote for one of the great charities that help those in need. Backpacks.com will donate free, new backpacks filled with items to the winning charity for distribution during the holidays.

In addition to donating bags currently selling on Backpacks.com, the online retailer has committed to collecting gently used bags from across the United States as part of the We’ve Got Your Back Campaign. The company is encouraging the public to visit their website, Backpacks.com, and click on the link to donate a bag. All donors will receive a coupon redeemable for discounts on the website.

“This 12 month promise to help others really speaks to the heart of the Backpacks.com family. We have committed to help others, but we also want to forge a partnership with our extended Backpacks.com family. We need people to send us their gently used backpacks so we may get them in the hands of children who need them most. We also ask everyone to visit Backpacks.com and join us in helping the people who donate their time to helping others every day,” said Armand Vezina, Vice President of Operations at Backpacks.com.
