Olympians, World Cup Vets Lead Way for mountainFLOW

mountainFLOW, a Colorado company that revolutionized the ski wax and bike lube industries with its line of eco-friendly products, announced three-time Olympian Simi Hamilton and six other elite skiers will all use moutainFLOW’s line of non-flouro race wax during this month’s American Birkebeiner, the largest cross-country skiing race in North America.

Founded in 1973 and held in Cable-Hayward, Wisc., the American Birkebeiner draws recreational and world-class cross-country skiers will take place Feb. 23 – 27. Hamilton, who represented the United States at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics, will serve as the captain of mountainFlow’s team of seven skiers. The team also includes Olympians and World Cup veterans Sophie Caldwell, Erik Bjornsen, Sadie Bjornsen, and Liz Stephen, as well as Sylvan Ellefson and Matt Gelso.

Released in October 2020 after months of rigorous performance testing, mountainFLOW’s Race Wax is a plant-based race wax and incorporates mountainFLOW’s Ceramic Nanotechnology. It is a hydrophobic and durable wax that is biodegradable and eco-friendly, like moutainFLOW’s line of other wax products.

Launched in 2016 and based in Carbondale, Colo., mountainFLOW won multiple awards at the 2020 Outdoor Retailer Snow Show in Denver and was featured on Season 12 of ABC’s Shark Tank, all due to the company’s line of eco-friendly plant-based waxes and lubes that have revolutionized the ski and bike industries. In 2020 mountainFLOW also became a certified B-Corporation, and all the company’s products are certified bio-based by the USDA.
