OIWC Adds to Board of Directors

The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC), the only national organization dedicated to workplace diversity and inclusion by expanding opportunities for women in the outdoor, snow, run, and bike industries, recently elected three new members to serve on its national board of directors. Each board member will serve a three year term and will bring the total number of OIWC board members to 14.

Incoming board members:

Kent Ebersole, vice president and general manager, Active Interest Media Outdoor Group

Jessica Klodnicki, executive vice president and general manager, Bell, Blackburn and C-Preme brands, part of BRG Sports

Jim Weber, chief executive officer, Brooks Running Company

In addition to setting policies and priorities, the board of directors also establishes OIWC’s strategic direction and identifies opportunities for the organization’s growth.

“Our new board members will play a critical role in the organization by bringing new perspectives to ensure OIWC continues to elevate the business imperative of talent acquisition, retention, and advancement of women across all industries,” says Deanne Buck, OIWC executive director. “Their industry experience and knowledge are invaluable to the organization and its future.”

Prior to joining Active Interest Media’s Outdoor Group, Ebersole served as the chief executive officer of Dirty Girl Mud Run. He also worked with Rodale, Inc. and the Chicago Tribune.

Klodnicki previously worked with Mizuno USA as its vice president of brand marketing and management and is the founder of Girls Rock Mountain Bike group. She also serves on the People for Bikes board of directors.

Weber assumed the helm of Brooks Running Company in 2001. Prior to joining Brooks Running, Weber was president of Sims Sport, Inc. and held various positions with The Coleman Company, Inc.

OIWC is thankful for the service of outgoing board members: past president, Julie Harris, Ali Sacash-Johnson, and Elysa Walk.
