MSR Launches Habiscape Tent Series

Seattle-based Mountain Safety Research (MSR), high-performance outdoor equipment that’s part of the parent company Cascade Designs, announced its Habiscape Tent Series for spring 2023. The Habiscape has added features for convenience, livability and luxury, offered in four-person or six-person options.

Designed for families and groups, the MSR Habiscape tent is a blend of performance, space and features. The Habiscape has a symmetrical design making pole placement and setup intuitive and easy. It includes thoughtful features like the Pass-Thru Pocket, accessible from inside and outside the tent but impervious to bugs, and a storage bag that becomes a hanging pocket. With 10 total pockets, ceiling loops for hanging accessories and lights, wide-door openings, and generous headroom, this shelter hits the sweet spot of price and quality.

“MSR has a long history of solving problems for the most serious of outdoor adventurers. With the Habiscape series, we applied our problem-solving skills to the family camping environment and are very pleased with the outcome,” said Kalon Pilmanis, vice president of Product. “The Habiscape’s intuitive setup, livable space, and creative pocketing solutions eliminate a lot of the frustrations that keep families from maximizing their time doing what is most important: enjoying the outdoors together.”

The Habiscape joins MSR’s front-country line of tents alongside the Habitude 4- and 6-Family and Group Tent Series. At a higher price point, the Habitude will remain the sturdiest, most wind-resistant option for families and groups.

In addition to the features listed, the Habiscape’s rainfly can be used as a sun shade or a storm entrance and features a double door for easy access. The 4-person version weighs 12 pounds and has an interior height of 73 inches, with 62.5 square feet of livable space plus an additional 23.5 vestibule square footage. The 6-person version weighs 13 pounds and 9 ounces with a 77-inch interior height and 83 square feet of living space plus a 24.5 square foot vestibule.
