Montane ‘Solution’ Jacket Wins 2023 ISPO Award

As a global platform, the ISPO Awards recognize innovation in products and services throughout the sporting industry, honoring pioneers in the field. The Solution Jacket, which will be available to consumers as part of the Montane SS24 collection next year, showcases Montane’s considered approach to its product line as an integral part of the brand’s “shell” collection.

Careful consideration has been taken in the design process of the Solution Jacket to provide optimal performance while adopting a more responsible approach to materials, construction and communications ahead of the launch in February.

Every aspect of its build has been carefully thought out to ensure optimal performance, while adopting more responsible materials including its use of recycled Pertex Revolve fabric (100 percent face fabric, 75 percent membrane, and 100 percent backer), a PFC-free DWR, and progressive use of trims such as YKK Natulon zips which use recycled tape.

Product longevity is progressed by the solution dyed plain weave face fabric. The use of this technology, where the color pigments have been mixed with raw recycled polyester pellets, results in the jacket being permanently colorfast to washing and sunlight because the color is integrated completely into the yarn. Using this technology can reduce water and energy consumption in addition to producing fewer CO2 emissions.

The Solution Jacket features includes meticulously placed vented storage with recycled inner pocket mesh, providing dual function front pockets that also adapt into large front venting for improved breathability and temperature regulation. A front adjustable hood with a reinforced peak and pre-elasticated back offers an exceptional fit and cover, with a raised collar providing both protection and comfort.

“We’re delighted to learn that the Solution Jacket has been recognized on the international stage by ISPO,” said Matt Hickman, Montane’s Marketing Director. “The Solution has been years in the making, with it being deeply rooted in our core mission – enabling a journey through nature whilst knowing our impact and correcting our path and this is an important step forward for Montane.”
