Marmot Taps Artist for Out of the Box Summer Collection

Marmot, the heritage outdoor gear and apparel brand that has been building a community for those who love the outdoors since 1974, announced a collaboration with artist DJ Javier. The limited-edition collection created and designed by the multi-disciplinary creative out of Santa Barbara, Calif. will feature four pieces of apparel and gear with unique designs.

As part of the movement for a more inclusive outdoors, Javier’s collection is driven by his creative, bold illustrations, graphic design and fine art, and his work aligns with his support of underserved communities with access to the outdoors within the local area.

“After connecting with DJ Javier and learning his passion for outdoor adventure, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to work with him to launch a full collection celebrating his designs,” said Chris Harges, Marmot director of the brand. “In addition to his unique designs, DJ introduced us to the Wilderness Youth Project, a local Santa Barbara-based outdoor access organization striving to create more inclusivity in the outdoor industry. Aligning with Marmot’s core value that the outdoors is for everyone, we knew this would be a great partnership and are working closely with the organization, in addition, to support through donations.”

The “United in Design and Outdoor Access” collection includes men’s and women’s shorts, shirts and hats. Javier brings this Cali-inspired outdoor collection and relaxed style to Marmot gear to create everyday fun streetwear that can be worn on mountainside adventures for a cool and comfy hike.

In spring 2023, Marmot plans to drop a second collection with Javier with additional styles, colors and artwork.

This year’s 2022 Marmot x DJ Javier collaboration includes giveaway sweepstakes for consumers.
