Maine Outdoor Appoints Kordick as Executive Director

Maine Outdoor Brands, the non-profit outdoor alliance working to strengthen Maine’s outdoor recreation economy, has hired Jenny Kordick as its first full-time executive director.

Kordick has a decade of experience working with non-profit organizations. She most recently served at The Wilderness Society in Washington, D.C. and in Maine, where she directed campaigns and led coalitions to protect significant outdoor areas and public lands across the country. This experience will allow her to work with a powerful and expanding network of leading businesses united around a clear objective: promoting Maine’s unrivaled outdoor assets for the benefit of businesses and Mainers alike.

“I’m honored to have the chance to work with such a strong network of people and brands,” said Jenny Kordick. “Maine’s outdoor industry is an economic powerhouse and huge asset to the state with the potential to grow even further. MOB can help strengthen the outdoor recreation economy and put Maine on the map as a national leader.” atching!

Formed two years ago, Maine Outdoor Brands (MOB) unites business leaders and entrepreneurs in raising awareness of Maine’s outdoor recreation economy and strengthens Maine’s outdoor product/service companies through knowledge sharing, collaborative marketing and commerce efforts and access to professional resources. MOB is committed to seeing Maine-based products, services, and retail brands thrive, and today has over 100 members that are a part of the mission. The organization was formed by leaders from Blaze Partners, Good To-Go, Flowfold, Trailspace and Stabil (now owned by Implus) in 2017, and with its rapid growth and the increased demand for more focused guidance, Maine Outdoor Brands saw the need for a full-time executive director to take this group and vision into the future.

“Bringing Jenny on board is a huge milestone for us,” said Jim Hauptman, managing partner at Blaze Partners and board president of Maine Outdoor Brands. “We were successful last year in lobbying the State to create an office of outdoor recreation. With that objective accomplished, this was the logical next step. We’re doubling down on the vision that first inspired MOB’s creation – to foster the development of the outdoor brands that call Maine home and to advocate on their behalf in growing the state’s outdoor recreation economy.”

Asked what the future holds for Maine Outdoor Brands, Kordick stated, “Maine has all the pieces to thrive: from innovative outdoor companies, to a new Office of Outdoor Recreation, to what makes us all want to live here – the outdoors itself. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how impactful and influential the outdoor industry can be, and Maine Outdoor Brands is perfectly positioned to continue that trend.” ffffff
