After concluding an extensive search, Peter Sachs, general manager of LOWA U.S., announced that MtnStuff sales agency will take over the brand’s Rocky Mountain territory from Chad Gallwitz, who has decided that the time is right, after 24 years, to retire. As of November 1, 2019, the agency will launch fall 2020 LOWA business and then February 1, 2020 will mark a complete transition.
“We appreciate Chad’s leadership in building and maintaining relationships with our retailers over the past 24 years,” commented Sachs. “He built the territory up from scratch and is now ready to hand over the reins to MtnStuff and enjoy his free time participating in recreational activities like Nordic skiing and biking that are so important to him.”
Founded in Colorado in 1991, MtnStuff is a team of six committed individuals, headed up by owner and president, Leta Kalfas. The team is dedicated to serving the outdoor market in the Rockies including Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Its focus is on the specialty market, working mostly with independent outdoor shops and a few key online and multi-door retailers. The rep group is committed to providing sales support through training of retail staff and working closely with their vendors to promote and market the brands they sell.
“It’s clear to me that MtnStuff’s team, their impressive track record and the way they organize their territory is a perfect match for LOWA,” said Sachs.
MtnStuff currently represents Astral, Blundstone, Osprey Packs, Outdoor Research, Rumpl and Western Mountaineering. Their team includes Leta, who handles key accounts; VP Richard Weight, Colorado Mountains and Western Wyoming; Tyler Noonan, Southern Colorado; Ashley Tucker, Utah; Minna Casser, Marketing and Social Media; and Daniel Delay, Front Range Colorado and Eastern Wyoming.
