Lincoln Canoe & Kayak of Amesbury, Mass., has released on online build-your-own-kayak configurator, offering customers a new way to experience the customizing and purchasing of a kayak. Lincoln builds each boat to order, and through the customizer, customers can select their colors and features to design their kayak.
Users start by selecting model, deck and hull materials, and watch their kayak come alive right before their eyes.
“This new build-your-own feature takes the experience a giant step further for the customer,” said Scott Laine, director of marketing for Lincoln.
According to Laine, the kayak configurator also has been a useful tool for Lincoln’s dealer partners, enhancing the customer experience on the sales floors.
“We’ve heard from a number of our dealers how great it’s been to be able to show customers color combos and features in real-time using the configurator,” he said. Since launching, we have received several dealer sales that have been closed utilizing it. It has been producing tangible results for our dealers.”
