KEEN Inc. announced that Mike Abbott will become the new president of the company starting Monday, July 8. The top executive was selected for his ability to help expand the brand globally and nurture the company’s culture, said sources at KEEN.
Formerly COO of Specialized Bicycles and COO and CFO of Burton Snowboards, Abbott brings almost two decades of expertise in global operations and business leadership to KEEN. He has played a key role in building industry-leading brands with footwear, hard goods and apparel product lines, says the company.
“KEEN has had ten exciting years of forward momentum and 2013 is no exception. We introduced the popular KEEN.CNX collection, expanded USA production, bought and renovated a building for our global headquarters and opened new KEEN Garages in Oregon, California, Japan and Czech Republic” said Linda Balfour, director of marketing, who has been with the company since 2005. “Mike will bring extra strength and momentum to an already exciting time and will give the brand added fuel for future plans.”
