Haroutunian Launches Consulting Business

After 15 years with Outdoor Retailer, Kenji Haroutunian, who recently stepped down as Emerald Expositions VP and Outdoor Retailer show director, has established KenjiConsults, a consulting business in service to the outdoor industry. The new venture will leverage Haroutunian’s nearly 30 years experience in the industry and extgensive relationships with many of the businesses within the marketplace.

The agency will provide solutions for companies looking to get deeper into the outdoor recreation marketplace and/or utilize events to go face-to-face with future customers and partners. The company is taking on projects for brands and organizations looking for segment analyses and forecasting, executive summaries as well as diversity action plans, custom event solutions and support.

“I’m proud of my tenure with Outdoor Retailer and have enjoyed the challenge of managing the shows for eight years. The team has my support as I move to take on challenges beyond the tradeshows, in service to this great industry,” Haroutunian commented. “I’m energetic about spurring the growth of specialty outdoor throughout the business ecosystem. As a consultant, I will have the opportunity to serve those within the industry who want to connect authentically with the innovative outdoor recreation market.”

While leading the execution of both the Summer and Winter Market Outdoor Retailer shows, Haroutunian also spent the past three years as a member of the Access Fund Board of Directors and he spent years on the Choose Outdoors board as longtime president of Friends Of Joshua Tree.
