GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill Raises $57,000 for Environmental Education

Kahtoola, creator of traction and performance-driven gaiters, announced its 15th annual GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill event raised more than $57,000 for youth environmental education programs at Friends of Camp Colton.

The annual February event, at the Arizona Snowbowl, has become a Flagstaff tradition, and this year’s race was the most successful to-date. The costume-optional race drew participants aged 3 to 73 and marked the first time since 2020 the event was in person. The race also coincided with the 50th anniversary of race’s beneficiary, Camp Colton, a Northern Arizona institution. The combined proceeds from entry fees, racer fundraising and raffle tickets will enable more kids to benefit from access to the outdoors at Camp Colton.

Of the 364 racers to enter the event, 117 raced the full Lumberyard Brewing Co. Agassiz Climb (2,220 vertical ft.), 104 braved the Midway Climb (1,550 vertical ft.) and 117 took on the Fun Climb (600 vertical ft.). The field included 46 Camp Colton Alumni and 46 W.L. Gore Associates.

To-date, the GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill has raised more than $500,000 to help kids experience life-changing times in nature. For information on Friends of Camp Colton, contact Ari Wilder at ari@friendsofcampcolton.org or call 928-527-6142.
