Geartrade Adds Tuning Option for Equipment

Online resale platform Geartrade – which is used for outdoor gear and apparel – announced a new service for wintersport enthusiasts: high-performance ski or snowboard tune-up before the gear is shipped.

This elevated level of equipment service for hardgood resale platforms in the outdoor industry is available on any ski or snowboard purchased through Geartrade.

Provided with the support of a state-of-the-art Wintersteiger machine tuner acquired in 2023, the new Geartrade tuning service provides a stone ground finish, edge sharpening and polishing and base wax application. Each tune will cost $40 and be added to the purchase price at checkout.

“The ultimate goal at Geartrade is to make sure that buying and selling outdoor gear is a positive and easy thing for everyone to enjoy,” said Geartrade President, Aaron Provine. “We’ve applied a ton of energy, thought and resources into making Geartrade incredibly simple to use, and our addition of premium services like board tunes adds a level of personal service that really sets us apart.”

Geartrade’s commitment to service can be seen throughout their rapidly growing consignment program, an “easy-button” for sellers and buyers of used gear that includes free shipping and an in-house concierge service that receives, evaluates, photographs and posts all products on behalf of the seller.
