Outdoor brand Filson and bike/urban gear maker Shinola, are opening their first stores in Minnesota. They’ll be splitting the space of a former Dunn Bros coffee shop in Minneapolis’ trendy North Loop neighborhood. Both Filson and Shinola are owned by Texas-based Bedrock Manufacturing.
Filson last year it announced that it was opening a handful of its own brick and mortar stores. The Minneapolis store will be the sixth location for the brand; one store and one factory outlet are open in Washington, along with stores in Oregon, Colorado and England.
Shinola, for its part, started online, built the brand, and then moved to a brick and mortar strategy. It opened its flagship location in Tribeca, N.Y. last year.
