Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd., owner of British outdoor brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, has announced its certification as a B Corporation (B Corp). Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, the achievement demonstrates that Equip, and its brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, said the company.
B Corp certification recognizes how a business operates as a whole – across governance, workers, community, environment and customers – rather than focusing on a single product or initiative. For Equip, this milestone formalizes a long‑standing approach to building and growing the business responsibly, without compromising on values in the pursuit of growth, said Equip Outdoor executives. As part of the certification process, Equip underwent an independent assessment by B Lab and updated its Articles of Association to reflect a commitment to people, the planet and long‑term business resilience alongside profit.
“Becoming a B Corp is a proud moment for us; it’s a recognition of a journey we’ve been on for a very long time,” says Richard Leedham, CEO of Equip Outdoor Technologies. “Our commitment to responsible manufacturing, safer chemistry, transparent and robust supply‑chain partnerships, and long‑term thinking has shaped our decisions for decades. This certification doesn’t change who we are—it confirms it.”
As a Fair Wear leader brand, a bluesign System Partner and the business that launched Material Facts, B Corp is another step towards Equip Outdoor’s ambition to be recognized as a leader in ESG within the industry.
