EK Asserts IP Infringement by Chums

A cease and desist demand letter by Logan, Utah-based EK Ekcessories claims lanyards manufactured by Chums are confusingly similar to lanyards for which EK owns substantial Intellectual Property rights. The cease and desist letter claims Chums’ conduct likely constitutes infringement of EK’s trade dress and patent rights, common law unfair competition, and/or violation of various federal and state statutes.

Accordingly, EK demands Chums cease and desist making, using, selling, offering for sale or importing into the United States any lanyards and any other device that unfairly competes or infringes on EK’s trade dress, patent or other rights.
