For more than one hundred years Stormy Kromer and Duluth Pack have built handcrafted bags, caps, and accessories in the United States. For fall 2016, the two Midwest brands have created a capsule collection including each brand’s signature pieces and accessories distinguished by a Limited Edition capsule patch and a special Sirius plaid, inspired by the brightest of Northern stars.
“While we are separated by Lake Superior, we are joined by a passion for creating tough, stylish outdoor gear,” said Gina Thorsen, president of Stormy Kromer.
Made in the U.S. at each brand’s respective Upper Midwest facility, the capsule collection includes two Duluth Pack bags and a Stormy Kromer Original cap and mitts.
“Our two brands have a shared heritage and a deep respect for each other,” said Tom Sega, president of Duluth Pack. “The collection portrays the best from both and highlights tradition of the northern Midwest.”
The Duluth Pack offering includes a Deluxe Scout Pack and Lakewalk Tote. The Deluxe Scout Pack is based on the popular Scout Pack, but with a premium leather bottom for added durability and visual appeal. A scaled down version of the Original Canoe Pack, the envelope style Deluxe Scout Pack features traditional riveted reinforcement and an interior hang pocket for interior organization. The Lakewalk Tote is a simple Northwoods women’s handbag inspired by the Duluth Pack canoe pack heritage designed for everyday use. It features a zippered top to keep items secure while an interior zippered hang pocket keeps small items easily accessible. Dimensions: 11″H x 15″W x 3.5″D. MSRP: $160
The Stormy Kromer pieces in the capsule includes an Original cap and mitts. The crown and brim of the Original cap features the Sirius plaid while a contrasting black wool earband compliments the black leather of the Duluth Pack pieces in the capsule. The cap is immediately recognizable as the look of the north with its traditional short brim and fitted style, front tie, and lowering earband, while the rear of the earband features a special collaboration mark highlighting the partnership with Duluth Pack. The Stormy Kromer X Duluth Pack mitts are constructed in the traditional chopper style in the collaboration special plaid wool. The mitts are lined with a soft sherpa fleece and have tapered cuff to keep the mitts in place along with easy slip on and off. Sizes: M-XL. MSRP: $59.99
