Carve Designs Launches Recycled Swim Collection

Beginning in Spring 2021, all Carve Designs swimwear and sun protection, including all bathing suit styles (bikinis, one-piece, tankinis, bottoms), rash guards, swim tights and swim shorts all will be made from recycled bottles. The first styles from the collection will launch November 15, 2020 and will be available online at CarveDesigns.com.

“We have been working on developing this recycled fabric for over two years,” Carve Designs’ co-founder Jennifer Hinton said. “The softness of the fabric was of the utmost importance to us. Not only can we feel so good about the fact that it’s made of recycled plastic bottles, but the hand is beautiful, it dries faster, and feels lighter on the body.”

The new Global Recycle Standard certified fabric is made from recovered consumption bottles, such as plastic water bottles, that are sourced from China. In one season alone, Carve Designs will use hundreds to tons of plastic bottles to produce its swimwear collection, said the company.

“As lovers of the ocean, it is deeply important to our company to do our part to reduce plastic waste. Our new fabric helps achieve that goal and provides best in class product to our customer. There is more work to be done but Carve is proud to have reached this milestone.” said Thayer Sylvester CEO and co-founder.

Carve Designs’ Spring 2021 swim collection will offer more than 30 styles in various prints and solids, retailing between $42 and $168.
