Textile manufacturer Burlington Worldwide has adopted the Bluesign system. Products that are Bluesign certified are made in factories that adhere to strict codes of conduct, and use only raw materials, chemicals and dyes that are also Bluesign certified, according to the companies.
Burlington Worldwide makes textiles and apparel fabrics for the outdoor market, as well as military, uniforms, fire protection, and more. It has manufacturing and sales offices in the United States, Mexico, China and Hong Kong.
Its first Bluesign fabrics will be produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Jiaxing, China. The certification was awarded after inspections showed that the Chinese facility met the same operating and regulatory standards as similar ones in North America.
