Bogs Launches Outdoor Education Program

BOGS Footwear announced its 2% to Outdoor Education program. Starting now, for every purchase on bogsfootwear.com, the company will donate 2% of the sale to outdoor education. The funds will go toward helping to remove financial barriers via scholarships and grants to outdoor education programs, so all kids can learn and enjoy the outdoors.

The program will support programs such as children’s urban gardening, nature schools, and outdoor science education. With several initiatives in the local Portland community, such as Urban Nature Partners PDX and Portland Children’s Museum, the company is helping kids enjoy the outdoors in its own backyard. Additionally, BOGS is supporting programs across the country including the Chicago Botanic Gardens’ Windy City Youth Farm, Amicus Adventure Sailing, and Urban Ecology Center.

“We believe that one of the best parts of being a kid is getting to learn and grow outdoors,” explains BOGS Director of Marketing, David Cook. “BOGS has created this program to enable more kids to enjoy the outdoor classroom. Whether through urban gardening, outdoor exploration, or science programs, our 2 Percent for Outdoor Education program will help kids in our own backyard and elsewhere enjoy a connection with the outdoors.”

A newly updated website will help support the brand’s community initiatives.
