BOA IGNITE BLAST Awarded NSF ‘Certified for Sport’ Designation

BOA Nutrition’s BOA IGNITE BLAST, the oral aerosol that provides power-packed fuel for a rapid energy supply, has achieved certification from the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)’s Certified for Sport Program.

NSF is a global public health organization that tests and certifies products to help protect athletes and consumers from potentially harmful ingredients and athletic-banned substances in dietary supplements.

The NSF Certified for Sport designation opens up extensive market opportunities for BOA IGNITE BLAST. The certification is recommended by professional sports organizations such as the National Football League (NFL), the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA), the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), and others.

Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Hockey League (NHL), and the Canadian Football League (CFL) clubs endorse it and provide products that carry the Certified for Sport certification, urging players to use these certified items.

Additionally, many NCAA Division 1 athletics programs require that sports supplements are NSF certified.

Created using BOA’s patented OraBlast technology to deliver atomized nutrients that are absorbed rapidly, BOA IGNITE BLAST provides caffeine, B vitamins and electrolytes, as well as fast-acting and slow-acting carbohydrates, all within a two-second spray.

The BOA brand, launched in 2020, was developed in collaboration with athletic training and sports nutrition experts at Duke University. The company’s first product, BOA ENDURE BLAST, delivers the same amount of sodium and electrolytes in a two-second spray as an entire 12-ounce sports drink. The product earned NSF certification in July of 2022 and protects athletes against the “sodium gap” where fluids no longer can hydrate cells effectively, leading to muscle fatigue, cramping and other hydration-related issues.

BOA IGNITE BLAST has been used in training and performance by world-class competitors such as Des Linden, Sam Long, Katie Knight, Hunter McIntyre, Armando Bacot and Jeremy Roach.

In addition to IGNITE BLAST, BOA is developing a range of product applications using the OraBlast technology to deliver specific benefits to competitive athletes and everyday consumers.

The NSF Certified for Sport protocol includes testing for 280 athletic banned substances as well as potentially harmful levels of contaminants like lead and arsenic. Product formulation, label claims and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance are also verified as part of this rigorous supplement certification program. With certification, BOA IGNITE BLAST is included in NSF’s online listing of certified products and on the Certified for Sport app.
