After joining forces in December, Kitzuma Cycling Logistics, offering fully-assembled bike deliveries nationwide and BikeExchange, an online storefront for retailers, manufacturers and consumers across the country, continue to change the way bikes are bought, sold and delivered, with high-profile retailers and D2C brands employing both platforms.
Recent converts using the full package include Alchemy Bikes, along PlayTri and Mack Cycle and Fitness.
Dealers and brands that sign up for BikeExchange (BEX) receive a centralized online storefront to sell their bikes and accessories in front of a national audience. This bolsters their online presence by offering wider consumer exposure to their products and inventory, without the consumer having to search for a particular brand/retailer.
Once a purchase is made from BEX brands, which also works with Kitzuma, consumers who choose Kitzuma for delivery will have their bike picked up fully assembled by the retailer’s staff in customized vans or trucks and shipped to the buyer’s door. Never boxed, the bike arrives exactly as the engineers designed it and the mechanics built it.
“Consumers looking for a new bike can now view up-to-date inventory from a select network of retailers and D2Cs all in one user-friendly site, and with a few clicks that bike will be delivered to their door assembled by the brand or shop and ready to ride,” said Taylor Essick, CEO for both brands. “Through our services, customers are also introduced to lots of new retailers and brands, especially beneficial when inventory is an issue, as it has been lately. Many of the smaller retailers, for instance, have bikes in stock but don’t have the infrastructure to reach a national audience or to ship to their location – we offer a simple, convenient solution.”
Brands and retailers that have signed on for both services include Vivelo, Zoomo, Epic Cycles, Pulse Endurance, Copper Spoke, Angry Catfish Bicycle. Signing up for both services is not a requirement; brands can join either BikeExchange or Kitzuma individually.
