Toad&Co Opens Golden Store

Toad&Co announced the opening of its new 1,500-square-foot retail location at 1213 Washington Ave in Golden, Colo. The shop will be located on the same street as its partner, Vital Outdoors, a local gear outfitter which will handle the shop’s day-to-day operations.

The new retail space will mirror Toad&Co’s existing stores in Freeport, Maine and Portland, Ore., offering a full selection of the brand’s sustainable apparel for men and women. The shop will also carry other accessories, footwear and more from complimenting brands.

“We are excited to be opening our newest retail location in the town of Golden,” noted Scott Whipps, Toad&Co’s vice president of sales. “Many Colorado natives will remember the brand, formally Horny Toad, from its Telluride roots. Plus, Golden is bustling with outdoor enthusiasts who care about sustainability and the environment. It’s a perfect fit for the brand.”

“The Toad&Co Golden store is an opportunity to bring a new social and cultural hub to Golden,” said David Livingston, owner and operator of the Toad&Co Golden store. “The shop perfectly marries the Trail to Tavern ethos of the brand.”

In the spirit of serving as a community hub, the store will support local nonprofits based out of the American Mountaineering Museum, Big City Mountaineers, Colorado 14er and Continental Trail Alliance, to name a few. The store staff will also participate in local trail cleanup efforts, host local artists and musicians, and will have Pangea Coffee on tap during the day for customers.
