Bass Pro Shops to Open Florida Door

Bass Pro Shops announced plans to open a new store in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Scheduled to open in late 2013, the new 100,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops Sportsman’s Center will be located at the highly visible intersection of I-95 and Gatlin Boulevard, says the company.

This will be Bass Pro Shops 11th Florida store location, a state that ranks first in the United States with more than 3 million anglers.

“We are very excited to bring Bass Pro Shops to this premier site in Port St. Lucie and continue our long relationship with Florida sportsmen,” stated Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops. “This highly visible location fronting I-95 is easily accessible and will allow us to bring Bass Pro Shops’ low prices and famous friendly, expert service to better serve the many sportsmen and women as well as the millions of visitors to the area each year.”

Bass Pro Shops will host over 120 million people visiting their 77 stores and Tracker Marine Centers across America and Canada this year; the average customer stays 2 ½ hours and drives an average distance of 50+ miles.

“Bass Pro Shops is a perfect match for the City of Port St. Lucie because we have so many people here who enjoy fishing, boating, camping, hunting and other nature-oriented activities,” said Mayor JoAnn M. Faiella. “With this nationally recognized retailer, we’ve landed a ‘big fish,’ so to speak, and we’ve created a winning relationship that benefits Bass Pro Shops, the residents of Port St. Lucie and outdoor enthusiasts for many miles around. We couldn’t be happier to welcome such a great company to Florida’s ninth largest city.”
