Baffin Opens Online Portal to Rep Base

On the heels of a January launch date, Baffin has introduced its Basecamp online portal to Baffin sales reps worldwide. Functions of the portal include immediate order entry, live inventory updates and a CRM tool to instantly access account sale specific information.

“Basecamp is an online portal that acts as a visual middleman between the outside world and Baffin’s order entry system,” says Lead Developer, Cory Dunne.

According to Baffin marketing manager Jeff Wellwood, who was closely involved with the development of the portal, Baffin evaluated current software options but found that creating a customizable solution from the ground up allowed for more control over the system and its features, “which allowed it to better fit our business model,” he said. “Research studies and other company examples have shown that 80 percent of all internal entry orders can be eliminated when online submission is available to reps.”

That lighter workload, means reps and customer service are better able to proactively serve Baffin’s retail customer base.”

Baffin’s future plan is to introduce Basecamp to all retailers, eventually eliminating all internal entries, leading to an even higher level of efficiency and customer support.
