Backland Eco-resort Opens September 1

Backland, a luxury eco-resort near the Grand Canyon, will open on Sept. 1.

In Phase One, Backland will offer a 10 tents within these categories:

  • BACKLAND SUITE – Sleeps up to four with a king bed and queen sofa bed.
  • SKY SUITE – Sleep under the stars in a warm, luxurious bed with a 16-foot SkyView window over the bed, sleeps up to four with a king bed and queen sofa bed.
  • GRAND SUITE – Sleeps up to six, king bed, queen sofa bed, twin bunk bed.
  • GRAND SKY SUITE – An immersive nature experience with a 16-foot SkyView window over the bed, sleeps up to six with a king bed, queen sofa bed, and twin bunk bed.

Rates start at $490 per night exclusive of tax. All tent suites feature panoramic windows, king-sized beds, full suite bathroom with shower, luxury linens, electricity, automatic climate control in a fully insulated and energy-efficient tent, tent side parking (electric vehicle charging at reception), daily housekeeping, outdoor patio, coffee maker and mini fridge, ecological toiletries, and water conservation fixtures. Wi-Fi will not be available in the tents but will be available in the lounge.

Backland is situated about 20 minutes from Williams, Ariz., on 160 acres of private land. It ​ is centrally located to offer easy access for a variety of day trips to Arizona’s most popular and beautiful natural wonders and attractions.

Miles of gorgeous biking, hiking, and riding trails weave throughout the national forest surrounding Backland. The resort is a 15-minute scenic detour off the most common routes to the Grand Canyon. Backland is 40 minutes from Flagstaff and 90 minutes from Sedona.

Backland’s resort amenities include an on-site restaurant, pond with beach, e-bike rentals, nature trails, complimentary Yoga, spa, geocaching scavenger hunt (complimentary), stargazing, firepit with s’mores, and bird watching.

Glamping has been a popular concept for many years; however, typical glamping tents are not without their drawbacks. Backland has addressed all these issues.
