Alterra Mountain Company Acquires Ski Butlers

Alterra Mountain Company announced it has acquired ski equipment rental and delivery company Ski Butlers. The Park City, Utah-based Ski Butlers will continue to operate as a standalone business providing services to 50 ski destinations worldwide.

Altera Mountain Company’s CEO Jared Smith said, “The Ski Butlers team has set the standard for guest satisfaction in the ski industry. As we continue to invest in building out a premier guest experience at each of our destinations, partnering with Ski Butlers is a natural addition.”

Ski Butlers Chief Revenue Officer Mike Cremeno said the acquisition was a “super clean” process, and that Alterra Mountain Company was interested in Ski Butlers for its team and approach to customer service. He added, Alterra is bringing more resources to the table, which will help Ski Butlers to grow. Currently, the company has more than 70 employees.

Ski Butlers has been led by CEO Bryn Carey since 2004 when it was founded. Carey said, “We believe Alterra Mountain Company can help us scale our business to reach as many skiers and riders as possible while staying true to the ethos of our team and the experience our customers expect.”

Ski Butler already is available at Alterra Mountain Company destinations including Steamboat, Palisades Tahoe, and Deer Valley Resort. It plans to keep expanding its services for Alterra’s Mammoth Mountain’s 2022-23 season.
