Allied Unveils Track My Down Web Platform

Allied Feather & Down officially unveiled its new Track My Down consumer resource at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2015. This new tool will allow consumers to track the complete history of the origin and quality of the down inside their garment or sleeping bag, from gosling to finished garment, as part of a comprehensive effort to make Allied’s processes and sourcing practices more transparent.

Building on Allied’s commitment to transparency, Allied would like consumers to be able to know exactly where their down came from. Track My Down will allow customers to do that by using Allied’s fully integrated internal traceability system, sourceTRACK. Each lot of down is labeled and tracked, and when the final blend is ready, it is given a unique sourceTrack number. Consumers will be able to enter the unique sourceTRACK number on Allied’s Track My Down Web site to trace the history of the down, its origin, the natural properties of the down and the Allied technologies that have been applied—from cleaning to treatments.

“Allied has been committed to making the down industry as transparent as possible,” said Daniel Uretsky, President of Allied Feather & Down. “We want not only the companies we supply down to know where their down comes from, but we want the final consumers to understand where it comes from as well. Track My Down is a unique way that we are informing and educating consumers.”

Montane, Peak Performance, and Vaude are the first brands to adopt Track My Down technology beginning Fall 2015.
