Academy Sports + Outdoors will open its first Memphis-area store on Sept. 27, 2013 at 8 a.m. in Collierville, Tenn. In conjunction with the opening, Academy has signed a multi-year partnership with The University of Memphis and its athletics multimedia rights holder, Tiger Sports Properties.
The new 73,000 square-foot Collierville store brings approximately 150 new jobs to the Memphis area and is located at 275 New Byhalia Road, said the company. This will be Academy’s eighth store in Tennessee.
“Not only are we excited to open our first store in the Memphis area, but we’ve also added a great community partner in the Memphis Tigers,” says Anita Sehgal, Academy Sports + Outdoors’ senior vice president of marketing and advertising. “We look forward to highlighting our everyday low prices and broad product selection that keeps families and Tigers fans active.”
