Wūru Wool, maker of premium wool products specializing in blister prevention and high-quality merino apparel manufactured in the United States announced it has seen more than 600 percent year-over-year sales growth in its Blister Wool category — a 100 percent natural New Zealand wool product.
The increase has been bolstered by gains in brick-and-mortar and e-commerce retailers supported through Liberty Mountain distribution, along with product directly available at wuruwool.com.
The continued growth in Blister Wool has allowed Wūru to expand its ‘made in the USA’ lineup to bring a new Lightweight Hoodie and Everyday Zip-Up to market, employing Nuyarn fabric. Wūru selected Nuyarn technology for its ability to allow merino fibers to retain their natural properties better than traditional ring or core spun methods.
The fabric technology yields superior loft, drying, stretch, thermal retention, and durability. Wūru will also launch Nuyarn base layers and a men’s boxer brief this winter to further the Nuyarn collection.
“The outdoor customer is becoming well-versed in the advantages of using wool and specifically merino,” says Wūru Wool founder, Matt Disney. “What we are doing, to set Wūru apart, is diving into what makes merino fibers so unique, and sourcing fabric partners that allow our design team to construct a lighter, warmer, and more durable garment. We feel we have a significant advantage in offering a premium product with the best materials. And customers can be proud it is cut and sewn in the USA.”
Wūru believes its success has resonated in bringing predominantly natural products to market with premium materials at a price point where customers find ultimate value.
“We aren’t slowing down,” Disney said. “The continued success of our Blister Wool has reinforced our plan, and we will continue to develop new products that bring wool’s possibilities to the forefront.”
