The Internation Federation of Sport Climbing elected and announced its executive board and re-elected president at its recent Plenary Assembly in Shanghai. The IFSC brought together 81 National Federations, represented by their respective delegates, during the assembly.
The president and board will serve four-year terms from 2013 to 2017.
“We are at a turning point in sport climbing history with sport climbing short-listed for the 2020 Olympic Games. Each one of us must work towards the success of our bid,” said M. Marco Scolaris, the newly re-elected president of the IFSC.
The new IFSC Executive Board includes:
President: M. Marco Maria SCOLARIS (ITA) – reelected
Secretary General: Ms Debra GAWRYCH (USA) – elected
VP Media/Communication: M. Li ZHIXIN (CHN) – elected
VP Finances/Treasurer: M. Pierre-Henri PAILLASSON (FRA) – elected
VP Sport/Events: M. Helmut KNABL (AUT) – reelected
The next Plenary Assembly will be held in Paris in 2014.
