YETI Extends Brand to Camp Furniture

Can Yeti successfully bring a premium price to another commodity-type market? The company announced this week that it is extending the brand into camp furniture with the release of the Hondo Base Camp Chair.

Originally available exclusively this spring on yeti.com and at the YETI Flagship store in Austin, the camp chair will retail for $299.99 in Charcoal.

“Inspired by fellow wilderness-tested gear – like the fabric used in climbing harnesses, and the aluminum used in premium mountain bikes – the Hondo features a DoubleBarrel Frame reinforced with two layers of age-hardened aluminum alloy, and EasyBreathe Mesh with FlexGrid Technology that eliminates pressure points for optimum comfort,” said the company.

“Our founding principle is to design products that solve current frustrations with durability and performance,” says YETI CEO, Matt Reintjes. “It all started with the Tundra, and now we’re offering up solutions for comfort and durability in outdoor living. We continue to listen to our consumers and develop products that outdoor enthusiasts require before, during, and after their adventures.”

A carrying bag and gear bag – perfect for phones, keys, wallets, etc. – will be sold separately.
