Trail, Rec Summit Announces Pushed Back Dates for Live Event

With COVID-19 still being very much on the forefront in so many countries, including the United States, American Trails and the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals have decided to push back the 2021 Trails and Outdoor Recreation Summit (TORS) to the Fall of 2021 (from the originally scheduled Spring dates of May 2021).

The new 2021 TORS dates are September 13-17, 2021.

“The last several months have been challenging for us all,” said the groups upon announcement of the new dates. “This unprecedented pandemic has required many drastic changes to all of our lives and continued uncertainty leading into 2021. With the current staff layoffs and increased possibility for travel restrictions and budget shortfalls in State and local agencies, co-hosts American Trails and the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals have collectively decided that this adjustment and additional time would be in the best interest of everyone. We want to make the 2021 TORS the best experience possible for all attendees, presenters, sponsors, and exhibitors, so this tough yet crucial decision was made to do just that.”

Sponsorship opportunities as well as the call for presentations will be available in the coming months but we are closely monitoring this ever-changing pandemic.

American Trails and the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP) also announced a partnership to co-host the 25th International Trails Symposium (ITS) and Training Institute and the National Outdoor Recreation Conference (NORC) in Reno, Nevada in September 2021.

“This collaboration will bring participants an even more robust and educational conference as we come together as a trails and recreation community. The joint conference will also feature the Professional TrailBuilders Association (PTBA) and their Sustainable Trails Workshops, Legacy Trail, and Technical Track,” said show organizers.
