Ternua’s Terranova, South River Win ISPO Gold

Ternua’s Terranova and South River jackets have just been awarded the ISPO Gold Award in the “Outdoor Lifestyle and Fashion” category. Every year, ISPO honors exceptional sporting goods with the ISPO Award. A jury consisting of independent sports business professionals evaluates several hundred entries following clearly defined criteria. Ternua’s jackets were selected in recognition of the brand’s innovative use of new materials and environmentally friendly fabrics.

Ternua is the first Spanish outdoor brand to receive this prestigious award. The international jury that selected the Terranova and South River jackets praised the design, innovation, functionality and sustainability of these jackets. The jackets are constructed with a variety of recycled materials. The garments’ Gore-Tex outer fabric is made from recycled fabrics, as is the lining, which is derived from plastic bottles. The insulation is comprised of 100% recycled down, called Neokdun, with a fill power of 700. The recycled down used in these award-winning jackets comes from garments and products that have reached the end of their lifecycle. The down is collected in Europe, then processed and washed. Its origin is controlled by the NVP traceability standard and audited by a third party, following the EDFA traceability standard. All these components make the two jackets water-resistant, windproof and breathable with a great thermal capacity.

Ternua Group’s Director of Innovation, Eduardo Uribesalgo explains, “This award encourages Ternua to follow the path of sustainable innovation. It reinforces our working philosophy that is committed to innovation and sustainability. For us, it boosts our international exposure and is great recognition for a lifestyle garment that we have created with state-of-the-art technology.”

The Terranova and South River jackets are available in Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Japan, Canada and the USA.
