Schoeller Textil USA Appoints New President

After more than 35 years with the Swiss company, Tom Weinbender is stepping down from his post at president of Schoeller Textil USA. Stephen Kerns wis joining the company, a subsidiary of Schoeller Textil AG of Sevelen, Switzerland, to serve as its new president. Weinbender has been president of the company for 21 years.

Kerns has been working in the textile industry for the past 10 years. Most recently, he led the North American Business Unit for Sympatex.

“Stephen’s experience and thorough understanding of the North American markets will help him in his execution to inspire, energize and connect with customers and internal staff,” said Weinbender. “We are very pleased to welcome him to the Schoeller family, and I am confident he will do a terrific job.”

“I’ve admired Schoeller’s passion for quality and innovation first as a consumer, and then from within the industry. I’m really excited for the opportunity to lead the North American business, especially in the dynamic times ahead of us,” remarked Kerns.

Kerns began his career at the original Merrell Footwear Company in Vermont, and has held positions with increasing responsibilities at global companies such as Braun/Gillette, Samsonite, Timberland and Tivoli Audio.
