Ruffwear unveiled a new dealer program that allows retailers to have the exact products they want and need without the hassles of pre-season ordering or any chance of overstocking. The company’s Latitude program means retailers can make on-demand wholesale orders throughout the year and receive free shipping for an annual fee of $99.
Ruffwear director of sales Dove Gibson describes the program as a type of wholesale Amazon Prime, effectively reducing inventory risk for both retailers and the brand. Orders from program participants are commercially shipped two- to five-day across the lower 48 states, and orders recived by 10a.m. will ship the same day. Minumum order is $100.
Gibson says Ruffwear is confident its use of historical data and forecasting can level demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels on its end.
“Pre-season ordering doesn’t actually give us as good picture,” she said.
