Founded in 1973, Pro-Tec is celebrating 45 years as the “original action sports protection brand.” The occasion is marked by a return to San Diego with a new headquarters, an expanded helmet line, a new range of snow helmets, and a collaboration with Volcom.
Pro-Tec relocated from San Clemente to join Sector 9 Skateboard Co., another brand under the Bravo Sports Corp. Specialty Division, in the new San Diego headquarters. “The move reflects the company’s commitment to its core market and marks a company promise to support and protect riders with proven and innovative products that professionals and beginners from around the world rely on every day,” said the company.
The first announcements from the new office include Pro-Tec’s upcoming snow helmet line that will debut in the fall of 2018 as well as the collaboration with fellow Southern California brand Volcom, which will include Volcom X Pro-Tec skateboard, bike, and snow helmets. The range will incorporate an industry-first swirl injection mold for a one-of-a-kind look.
Along with their current sales reps, John Crouch (Pacific Northwest) and Mike Girard (New England), Pro-Tec welcomes the following new snow specific sales reps to the their brand:
Doug Coger: Southern California, Arizona and Southern Nevada.
Andrew Walford and Ryan Hughes: Northern California and Northern Nevada.
Steve Wikner: Midwest (Both Sides of the Lake)
Davey Gonzales: Utah, Colorado, New Mexico
Mark Neustadter: New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Consolidating the entire team under one roof will facilitate brand collaborations, product development as well as unifying the sales and marketing personnel in one space, said the company.
