PrimaLoft Renews OEKO-TEX Certification

PrimaLoft has renewed its OEKO-TEX(R) Standard 100 certification for its PrimaLoft(R) Insulations, Yarns, and Performance Down Blends. The certification ensures that PrimaLoft’s certified products have been tested for more than 300 potentially dangerous substances such as residual surfactants, carcinogenic dyestuffs, heavy metals, and formaldehyde.

PrimaLoft’s OEKO-TEX certified insulations and yarns are used in outdoor, hunting, military, fashion, and work wear apparel including outerwear, fleeces, base layer garments and socks, as well as in a wide variety of bedding products. PrimaLoft has held the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification for approximately 15 years.

“OEKO-TEX certification is another element of the exceptional comfort we build into our PrimaLoft products,” said Mike Joyce, president and chief executive officer of PrimaLoft, Inc. “In addition to physical comfort, our OEKO-TEX certified PrimaLoft products now promise the peace of mind that they are tested for concerning chemicals. OEKO-TEX helps us create extraordinary comfort solutions that let people focus on and fully enjoy their activities, day or night, at play or at rest, in any climate and any condition.”

In addition to the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, the International OEKO-TEX Association also administers STeP by OEKO-TEX, a comprehensive certification program for brands, retailers, and manufacturers from all sectors of the textile supply chain who want to validate their sustainable production in a transparent, credible, and clear manner that is consistent country to country. The MySTeP database management tool helps textile product manufacturers collaborate with suppliers to attain quality, sustainability, and transparency goals. The new Made in Green label is available for products that are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and manufactured in STeP certified facilities.
