PrimaLoft, an innovation company that specializes in high-performance, sustainable insulation, announced that its flagship PrimaLoft Gold insulation will be produced exclusively using the company’s P.U.R.E. manufacturing technology. This groundbreaking manufacturing method – which has been employed since January 2025 – reduces carbon emission during synthetic insulation production.
Compared to traditional methods, products made with P.U.R.E. technology achieve a 50 percent or greater reduction in carbon emissions. This advancement requires a significant effort and commitment from both PrimaLoft and its manufacturing partners. PrimaLoft and its partners have worked diligently to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources – such as solar power – and to integrate more efficient, electric-powered equipment.
As of today, PrimaLoft has partnered with five factories, globally, to establish and utilize P.U.R.E. technology. In 2019, P.U.R.E. launched with a single brand partner: Patagonia. Five years later, more than 50 global brands are utilizing this sustainable manufacturing technology, including Arc’teryx, Houdini, Timberland, adidas, Cotopaxi and more. With the PrimaLoft gold conversion, a projected 275 brands will use P.U.R.E. technology moving forward.
This move marks a milestone in PrimaLoft’s ongoing commitment to responsibility and reducing environmental impact. The transition represents the first step toward applying the technology across PrimaLoft’s product portfolio, with fellow legacy products PrimaLoft Silver and PrimaLoft Black expected to convert in the next two years. Further proliferation across the product line is expected to follow as capabilities scale.
